Just $0.99 can help feed 4 New Yorkers through our beneficiary organizations – Food Bank For New York City, City Harvest, City Meals on Wheels & New York City Rescue Mission. Users can round up anywhere, but users who round up at partner locations receive rewards for giving to those in need – free drinks, food, and $ discounts. Our goal is to inspire New York City to close it’s own meal gap. Currently, there are 235 million missing meals throughout the 5 boroughs each year. It might seem like a tall order to bridge this meal gap, but simple math tells us that if 10% of New Yorkers each round up for a total of $6.00 a month, we can close the meal gap in one single year. New York can close it’s own meal gap and create history – with a minimal contribution from its residents!

New York, NY, – For several years now the Bronx, New York has played host to one of the most popular natural hair salons in the New York City area. Nubian Hair Studio owned and operated by Natural Hair Expert Mrs. Alice Weise-Goode, has been a staple in garnishing industry attention. On April 27th 2014, Nubian Hair Studio and Thatsacurl joined forces to introduce ROCKLAND’S OWN HAIR AND BODY SYMPOSIUM with special guest, hysterically funny actress and comedienne Kim Coles. The event was so successful that it landed Weise-Goode in the national publication, Hip Hop Weekly.
Presently, you can find Alice Weise-Goode featured in the Dec/Jan 2015 issue of the nationally popular magazine “Sophisticate’s Black Hair.” Featured on the cover is the prominent Bravo TV’s RHOA star Cynthia Bailey, R&B sensation K. Michelle, R&B Songstress Keyshia Coles, Television’s “The Real” star Tamar Braxton and more.
In the full page spread, Nubian Hair Studio’s own Alice Weise-Goode breaks down the art of the Flawless, Waist-Length Twists. She starts off by explaining that natural hair is in high demand and she likes to display the flexibility of the Nubian Twist. Throughout the article, the very detailed Weise-Goode takes readers through the process of shampooing and conditioning. She goes on to explain about applying what is known as “The Marley Hair.” The article showcases the final look, which was done by Nubian Hair Studio’s stylist “Aida.” The article can be found on page 122; Braider’s Corner, “Our Roots” in Sophisticate’s Black Hair Magazine.
Currently, Alice Weise-Goode continues building her brand by partnering with Thatsacurl owner, Allyson Neal Springett. The two ladies started with Entwine Naturalle Couture Beauty as brand ambassadors and on June 26th, 2014 along with three other partners, they started their own franchise named “Be-Entwined” under the Entwine umbrella. The team hopes to reach African-American women between the ages of 24-45, but explains that the products can also work on Children, Men and Non-African people with textured hair.
With over 30 years of experience under this hair pro’s belt, she knows a good product when she uses it. Be-Entwined is a winner and along with her partners, they plan on telling the world of Natural Hair wearers all about the benefits of using these products. Their first official launch of Be-Entwined will take place in Atlanta in January 2015 and will continue on to launch in the New York market soon after.
